Abyss Web Server

If you haven’t tried Abyss Web server, it’s time to you head to Aprelium.com and download the free version for use on your development machine.  If you’re like me, once you start using it, you’ll be amazed at how incredibly feature rich and easy to use the server is... which will make you want purchase the full version.

 

I must add that the main differences between the pro and free versions are the pro can handle “Virtual Domains” along with Per Host, File, Directory rules.

 

If you’ve ever configured (or attempted to configure) Apache or IIS then you will be presently surprised at how fast you will pickup configuring Abyss.  It is MUCH MUCH easier!

 

So without further ado, let’s get started.

 

Step 1:

Download and install Abyss from here; http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/download.php

 

Step 2:

Open the Console by right clicking on the icon in the icontray and click “Console”.  This will open your default browser and put into the console of Abyss.

 

Step 3:

Click on the “Server Configuration” icon.
